Dining Room Reveal & Ruggable Review

Happy Monday!! Today is a fun day here at Alaina Atwood Blog because I am getting back to my roots and talking about home design. Specifically my dining room! If you have been around a while you know I went to Baylor for Interior Design & this is how I got into the blogging world! Let’s get started.

Let’s start by talking about the back wall I put together and then move into the actual dining set & how I styled it.

I wanted to find some floating shelves to style on this back wall because I knew I did not have room for any type of buffet (even though the storage would have been nice). I found these floating shelves from Target. They come in a few different colors and I think they are great! I styled them with several clear glasses and a few of our dinnerware pieces as well as a few other things. I am attaching a graphic below and you can click on it to shop any of the items!

My Bar Cart might be one of my favorite parts of this whole space. I styled it with my wine holder from anthropologie, my cook books, and some of the bar accessories we got from our wedding. I linked them all for you in the graphic below.

The table .. I have gotten so many questions about it over the last year and it is my parents super old table that I painted with this chalk paint and sealed it with this. I definitely recommend going this route if you need a really affordable option. I think it cost me less that $100. I never finished the chairs and really want to finish off the set now that I am talking about it.

Place Mats I love from Target! I think these are adorable and perfect for any season. I normally have this vase in the center of the table with some Trader Joes flowers! (ps. they are the BEST if you don’t already know).

Almost forgot to tell you my outfit details! You can find the dress I am wearing here & the boots here!

My tree – I got this at target 80% off for no joke I think $20. This one is sold out, but I linked several I love here!

Okay the RUG! Eeepp. I have been wanting a ruggable rug just about forever. They are amazing. Here is the deal.  They great quality and look expensive in my opinion. However, they are a rug I would put in the dining room, kitchen, play room, or kids room. You could put them in any room, but they are not soft and fluffy like you may want for your living room or bedroom. Right now I would put it in my living room because of our baby and it being high traffic.

P.S – My tree – I got this at target 80% off for no joke I think $20. This one is sold out, but I linked several I love here!

I chose this rug in a 6 x 9. I love love the look of it in here. I am not worried about keeping it clean at all because it is MACHINE WASHABLE. I have not had to wash it yet because I run my roomba everyday and if i see a spot I just wipe it up. However, I made sure it fit in my washer. I got one stain on it and used my Branch Basics Oxygen Boost and BAM gone! That stuff is a miracle worker. Truly.

SOME FAQ ABOUT MY RUGGABLE!

Does it fit in your washer?  – Yes! I have an LG washer and it fits great!

Is it plush? – I would not necessarily say plush. It is a really nice material, but not like soft and cozy! More aesthetic and durable! That is why I would recommend it in dining room, play room, kids room, or kitchen.

Easy to Clean? – I think so! I have been mostly just wiping it clean and it works great and then if I had a really big spill I would throw it in the wash!

Do I need the Rug Pad? – Yes 100%. You have to have it!

Worth the Price? – Obviously depends on finances if it is “worth it”, but I would say you 100% get the quality you pay for. I think it will be a rug we have for a long time and still looks new years later!

How big do the sizes go? – They just came out with some 9×12!

Ruggable was so so kind to give me a discount code for y’all!

You can use the code “FUNALAINA10” to get 10% off your order!

I always love switching it up in my dining room since we spend SO much time in here. What are your favorite items and pieces in your dining room? Share with me below!
